The Lewisburg Rotary Club Christmas Parade will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. This year's theme is "An Old-Fashioned Christmas." The parade will follow the usual route from Tiger Boulevard, east on West Commerce toward the Lewisburg Square. A slight change in the parade route will take place on the square with wheeled vehicles continuing straight onto East Commerce and all floats turning onto 1st Avenue to wind up at Rock Creek Park, where parents can pick up their children. ...

Fire claims lives of 30 Spotted Saddle Horses (11/28/07)
A pre-dawn fire Monday took the lives of approximately 30 Spotted Saddle Horses. The blaze at Dickie Gardner Stables, Whitaker Road, was discovered after 3 a.m., officials said. "Some neighbors saw it and called us," Gardner said. "We (Gardner and his wife, Misti) got here and tried to get in but the firefighters wouldn't let us inside. They said it was already too far gone."...

Indictments issued by the Marshall County Grand Jury this month allege theft of lottery tickets, burglary suspects taking a gun, money taken from a pizza delivery store and statutory rape. True bills of indictment were issued one week ago today, but some of the defendants were not arrested until after Judge Robert Crigler issued a bench warrant because they were the subject of sealed indictments from original information instead of cases that had been heard in Marshall County General Sessions Court.. ...
