Lewisburg PD officer resigns (09/08/10)
The Lewisburg Police detective who was charged with public intoxication at an East Commerce Street restaurant resigned last week, thereby opening a position for the city's member on the 17th Judicial District Drug Task Force. Police Chief Chuck Fobis met with Chad Webster on Thursday and on Tuesday morning reported, "He resigned." Marshall and Lincoln counties' detectives found an illegal drug laboratory in the Delina Community on Friday and a state hazardous materials service cleaned the area, according to Sheriff Norman Dalton. William Dee Randolph, 30, 5313 Delina Road was arrested and charged with initiation of manufacturing methamphetamine, Dalton reported Tuesday. Randolph's bond was set at $25,000 and he is to appear in General Sessions Court on Sept. 28...
FMS comeback falls short (09/08/10)
It was too little, too late for the FMS Rockets Thursday night in Chapel Hill, as a torrid fourth quarter comeback was not enough to overcome their earlier mistakes in a 12-6 loss to Westwood Jr. High. FMS head coach Josh Roberson said after the game, "We were not ready to play. We have to re-think our pregame strategy before home games. Hopefully we can get some air conditioning in the field house and have them sit down there instead of splitting them up. Maybe do some board work and stuff and get them thinking on football."
