The committee managing fees paid on telephone bills for 911 emergency dispatch services in Marshall County is planning to consolidate dispatch centers, but Lewisburg's City Council wants details before donating land for a building. Two men indicted on charges of burglary (09/29/10)
Two young Marshall County men were indicted by the grand jury last week on a charge of burglary, for a theft they allegedly committed this spring. On May 30, Steven J. Fulmer, 21, of Chapel Hill, assisted by Brandon C. Baker, 20, of Lewisburg, entered the garage of a residence on Caney Creek Lane, Chapel Hill, by climbing in through a back window, according to the arrest warrant signed by Marshall County Sheriff's Detective Keith Jolley...
Man sentenced 20 years for crimes (09/29/10)
A young man, who pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated attempted rape, aggravated assault, and aggravated burglary, was sentenced last week to 20 years, of which he must serve 30 percent before being eligible for parole. Ociel Morales-Carillo, 17, has already spent over 500 days in jail, and might be released on parole in May 2015. At that point, if not sooner, he faces deportation to Mexico as an illegal alien, according to court records...
Octoberfest starts 6 a.m. Saturday (09/29/10)
The Lewisburg Lions Club's annual Octoberfest and Pancake Breakfast is this Saturday on the Courthouse Square. Lions and their cooks arrive at the square at 6 a.m. for the all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast.
