  • * Rockets get revenge on Vikings, stay alive in 9-A (High School Sports ~ 05/10/11)
Fifth-seeded Community had its opportunities to upset No. 2 seed Forrest in a District 9-A losers' bracket contest Monday just as it did the final week of the regular season. However, the breaks simply didn't lean in the Vikings' favor in a 6-3 season-ending loss.
  • * Herron two hits Eagleville in tournament opener (High School Sports ~ 05/10/11)
Early on, Forrest junior Brooke Herron did not get much run support from her Lady Rocket teammates, but Herron did not need much help in the 6-0 win as she tossed a complete game two-hit shutout over host Eagleville in the first round of the District 9-A Tournament. Herron took a no-hitter into the seventh inning before Eagleville's Mandy Millard singled up the middle with one out.
