CMS Bulldogs vanquish Knights (10/06/11)
On Thursday, the Cornersville Middle School Bulldogs snapped a four-game losing streak by defeating the Riverside Christian Academy Knights 24-14 on Homecoming. The two teams were locked in a 6-6 tie late in the second quarter before Cornersville (2-5) scored two quick touchdowns to take a 18-6 lead into the break. RCA narrowed the gap to 18-14 early in the fourth quarter, but the Bulldogs responded with a touchdown on their ensuing possession to seal their 10-point victory.
Bulldogs come up short against Loretto (10/06/11)
The Cornersville Bulldogs frustrations on the gridiron continued on Friday when they suffered a 28-20 loss to the Loretto Mustangs on Homecoming. Cornersville (0-6, 0-3 Region) had defeated Loretto each of the last two years, but got off to a slow start Friday evening and trailed 14-0 at halftime. After the Bulldogs scored on their first two possessions of the second half to tie the game at 14-14 late in the third quarter, the Mustangs (2-4, 1-2 Region) responded with two quick touchdowns to seize a 28-14 advantage with 8:42 left in the contest before staving off a late CHS rally.
