Despite turning in a solid performance, the Marshall County Tigers suffered their fourth loss of the season on Friday night when they were defeated 63-54 by Class A power Perry County at the Richland Christmas Classic. Although the Vikings advanced to the semifinals of the Class A State tournament last season and boasted an impressive 10-3 record coming into Friday's contest, the Tigers (9-4) got the better of Perry County early on and held a 27-24 lead at the break.
Fast start propels Tigers past Collinwood (01/04/12)
On Thursday, the Marshall County Tigers (9-3) snapped a two-game losing streak by defeating the Collinwood Trojans 56-41 at the Richland Christmas Classic with the help of a dominant first quarter performance. Marshall County appeared they were going to run the Trojans (8-6) out of the gym in the opening half and led by as many as 25 points in the second quarter before taking a 35-13 advantage into the break.
