Saddle Creek MGA plays away

The Saddle Creek Men's Golf Association (MGA) opened up their tournament schedule on Sunday with a field of 28 golfers paired up in foursomes. The format was one low ball, two low balls, and three low balls. The first six holes were to be scored by the lowest score by a single player in the foursome, while holes seven through 12 were the combined low score of two of the golfers in the foursome.

Marshall County outlasts Page for season sweep (High School Sports ~ 04/26/13)
The Marshall County Tigers had to do some extra work, but managed to complete the season sweep of District 12-AA rival Page on Monday night by defeating the Patriots 10-6 on the road in 10 innings. Having beaten Page 7-3 three days earlier, the Tigers (15-6, 11-3 District) held a 6-0 lead through the first three and a half innings of play, but the Patriots (15-7-1, 10-6 District) came storming back and tallied six runs over the next three frames to tie the game at 6-6. -
County softball squads gear up for post-season runs (High School Sports ~ 04/26/13)
With just a week to go in the regular season, two of three county softball squads find themselves in thick of their respective district races, beginning with the Marshall County Tigerettes, who are on the heels of Giles County, one game back of the Lady Bobcats in the District 12-AA standings. The Tigerettes (16-7, 10-3) have been on a late season surge, winning eight out their last ten contests, including four consecutive district match-ups. -
Culleoka clips Bulldogs for split (High School Sports ~ 04/26/13)
After defeating Culleoka 8-1 the previous evening to clinch the second seed in the upcoming District 11-A tournament, the Cornersville Bulldogs were forced to settle for a split in the regular season series with their conference rival when they suffered a 5-3 road loss to the Warriors on Tuesday night. Cornersville (12-13, 9-3 District) held a 1-0 lead through the first two innings of play, but Culleoka scored five runs in the bottom of the third to seize a 5-1 advantage before staving off a late Bulldog rally attempt. -
Rockets fight for home cooking in tourney (High School Sports ~ 04/26/13)
The Forrest Rockets are in a battle for some home cooking in the first round of the upcoming District 9-A Tournament, and they took a big step towards that goal Tuesday in Chapel Hill, coming from behind to win 7-4 on senior night versus Community. On Monday, the Rockets' bats were silent, managing just one hit, while going down on strikeouts a dozen times versus Dillon West at Unionville in a 2-0 loss. -
Tigers edge Giles County (High School Sports ~ 04/26/13)
Coming off a hard fought extra inning victory over Page the previous night, the Marshall County Tigers needed more late game heroics to beat archrival Giles County on Tuesday night, as they defeated the Bobcats 4-3 in eight innings at home. Marshall County (16-6, 12-3 District) held a 2-0 lead through the first three innings of play, but Giles County (8-18, 8-7 District) struck for three runs in the top of the fourth to seize a 3-2 advantage. -
