A-Plus Collision doubles up Elks

The Elks suffered their first loss of the 2013 Babe Ruth season when they dropped an 8-4 decision to A-Plus Collision Center on Thursday night in five innings. A-Plus Collision (2-1, 1-1) took control of the contest early and built a 6-1 lead through the first three innings of play. After the Elks (2-1, 1-1) cut the deficit to 6-4 in the top of the fourth, A-Plus responded with two runs in the bottom half of the frame to open up an 8-4 advantage before the game's time limit expired in the fifth inning.

Nichirin (1-2, 1-1) saw a potential win slip through their fingers on Thursday night, as Marshall Medical Center (2-1, 1-1) rallied to defeat the defending Marshall County Babe Ruth league champs 8-6 after overcoming a late four-run deficit. MMC trailed 5-1 through the first four innings of play, but crossed home plate seven times over the next two frames to seize a 8-5 lead before hanging on for the two-run victory.
