On Monday, the Elks (6-1, 5-1) reeled off their fourth straight win when they defeated Marshall Medical Center 7-0 in five innings at Jonathan D. Hollingsworth Memorial Park to maintain sole possession of first place in the Marshall County Babe Ruth league standings. Starting pitcher Will Johnson turned in a strong performance on the mound for the Elks and limited MMC to just two hits and two walks in five scoreless innings of work while notching six strikeouts en route to earning the win. -

Nichirin (4-3, 4-2) strengthened its hold on second place in the Marshall County Babe Ruth league standings by defeating A-Plus Collision Center 9-2 in five innings on Monday night at Jonathan D. Hollingsworth Memorial Park. Having defeated APCC 22-7 in their previous meeting, Nichirin got off to a fast start in Monday's contest and built a 6-0 lead through the first two innings of play before outscoring A-Plus Collision Center 3-2 over the final three frames to claim the seven-run victory. -
