Elks top A-Plus Collision (High School Sports ~ 06/28/13)
The Elks (11-1, 10-1) extended their winning streak to nine games on Monday afternoon by defeating A-Plus Collision Center 7-3 in six innings. Having handed the Elks their lone loss of the season, A-Plus Collision Center (4-8, 3-8) appeared poised to pull off the upset early on and held a 3-1 lead through the first one and a half innings of play. -
Nichirin shuts out Marshall Medical Center (High School Sports ~ 06/28/13)
On Monday night, Nichirin (7-5, 7-4) recorded their second straight lopsided victory when they defeated Marshall Medical Center 9-0 in five innings at Jonathan D. Hollingsworth Memorial Park. Starting pitcher Stuart Warner went the distance on the mound for Nichirin to earn the victory and limited Marshall Medical Center (3-9, 2-9) to five hits and three walks in five scoreless innings of work while notching six strikeouts. -
Marshall Medical Center mauls A-Plus Collision (High School Sports ~ 06/28/13)
Marshall Medical Center (4-9, 3-9) saved their best for last, as they snapped an eight-game losing streak by defeating A-Plus Collision Center 12-2 in five innings on Tuesday afternoon in their season finale. APCC (4-9, 3-9) actually held a 2-0 lead through the first two innings of play, but Marshall Medical Center saw their bats catch fire in the top of the third and exploded for 10 runs in the frame to seize a 10-2 lead before cruising to the mercy rule shortened victory. -
Elks rally past Nichirin (High School Sports ~ 06/28/13)
he Elks (12-1, 11-1) capped their championship season in dramatic fashion when they rallied to defeat Nichirin 6-5 in five innings on Tuesday night in their final game of the year to claim their 10th straight victory. Having narrowly lost three times to the Elks this season, Nichirin (7-6, 7-5) appeared they would finally get the better of the 2013 champs and held a 5-2 lead through the first four and a half innings of play. -
