Monette Allen (Obituary ~ 09/17/13)
Monette Allen Monette Allen, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013. She was born July 10, 1926, in Dyer County, Tenn. and was a resident of Lewisburg for 38 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvie and Vivan Walker; brother, George Walker; and her son-in-law, Clyde Ferguson. Married for 65 years, she is survived by her husband, Eldred Allen; two daughters, Sherry Allen Ferguson and Faye Allen Harrison; four grandchildren, David Ferguson, Monica (Scott) Addington, Robyn (Russell) Barge, and Brea Monette Harrison; three great-grandchildren, Will Ferguson, Katherine (Jared) Osborne, and Edward Anthony Neal Barge; and two great-great-grandchildren, Taylor and Levi Osborne. She was a member of East Commerce Baptist Church. Funeral services were conducted at the church Sunday, Sept. 15, with Bro. Cliff Vines officiating. Mrs. Allen was laid to rest Monday, Sept. 16, at the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Nashville. Hibbett and Hailey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
