Melson and Snell win E-Z-GO Pro-Pro Championship (Professional Sports ~ 10/18/13)
Chattanooga, TN - Play has concluded at the picturesque Chattanooga Golf & Country Club in Chattanooga, Tenn. for the E-Z-GO Pro-Pro Championship. Chattanooga Golf & Country Club played great host with wonderful accommodations, food, amenities and golf. The weather and course conditions were perfect for the two days, and some great golf was played. The first day totals kept the competition close, as there were a few groups in the hunt. In the end, Jared Melson, PGA of Bear Trace of Tims Ford and Kevin Snell of Henry Horton State Park led this field with a 64-63 -- 127 total. Their total of 15-under par topped the field over closest competitors Henrik Simonsen, PGA and Byron Williams, PGA team and local team Bruce Etter, PGA and Madison Moore who both had a 13-under par total. The competition was closely contested coming into the final holes when Snell & Melson stepped up their game making birdies on 16 & 17. Melson made a tricky 8-foot sidewinder that put them two strokes up heading into 18. Kevin Snell made a great up and down for par on 18 to seal the deal. For their efforts, Snell & Melson walk home with $1,500 each. This year's championship also featured a B Division for the highest 8 groups after round one, and Ken Crowder, PGA and Chris Stacy, PGA of Lonesome Pine Country Club won the division by firing a second round 68.
