TVA helps protect Duck River with conservation easement

For the second straight year, the Marshall County Tigers were knocked out of the Class 4A playoffs by a Chattanooga area team, as MCHS suffered a 52-17 road loss at the hands of District 7 champ Signal Mountain in the first round on Friday night. The Eagles buried Marshall County early and raced out to a 35-10 lead in the first half before outscoring the Tigers 17-7 over the final two quarters to claim the lopsided victory. -
Wayne Co. bounces Bulldogs from playoffs (High School Sports ~ 11/13/13)
After winning their final three regular season games to grab a spot in the Class A playoffs, the Cornersville Bulldogs (6-5) were unable to carry that momentum into the postseason, as they were defeated 49-14 in the first round by the Wayne County Wildcats on Friday night in Waynesboro. Having beaten Wayne County 21-18 last year, the Bulldogs hung tough early on and trailed just 6-0 late in the second quarter, but the Wildcats (7-4) scored a touchdown and a two-point conversion with 2:18 left in the first half to stretch their lead to 14-0. -
