On Friday night, the Forrest Rockets (2-4) let their guard down at an inopportune time, as they squandered a 10-point fourth quarter lead en route to dropping a 48-46 decision to the East Hickman Eagles at the Forrest Thanksgiving Tournament. After taking a 31-24 lead into halftime, the Rockets opened up a 45-35 advantage with 3:15 left in the fourth quarter and appeared to have the game safely in hand. -

For the second straight year, Creek Wood survived an upset bid by the Forrest Lady Rockets, as the undefeated Lady Red Hawks (6-0) defeated FHS 52-45 on Saturday afternoon at the Forrest Thanksgiving Tournament. After taking a 23-17 lead into halftime, Creek Wood opened up a 42-32 advantage early in the fourth quarter before the Lady Rockets (4-2) came storming back and tied the game at 42-42 with 3:55 left. -
Lady Rockets carve out win over Cascade (High School Sports ~ 12/04/13)
The Forrest Lady Rockets took the floor for the first time in their Thanksgiving Tournament on Wednesday afternoon in Chapel Hill versus Cascade and the hosts ended up carving out a solid 56-45 win over the Lady Champions. "We played hard, we didn't play our best, but we played hard and did some good things," said Forrest head coach Jeremy Jean. "Our mid-range shot was horrible tonight, so it was good to have Brothers chip in with those threes and get some other threes from some of our other guards." It was the third win in a row for Forrest (4-1), who led for much of the contest, but had to stave off several runs by the Wartrace girls. -
Tigerettes defeat East Hickman (High School Sports ~ 12/04/13)
After seeing head coach David Junkins resign earlier in the week, the Marshall County Tigerettes pressed on under interim coach Jerrie Henry on Friday night when they defeated former District 12-AA foe East Hickman 45-36 in the Forrest Thanksgiving Tournament to pick up their first victory of the season. Marshall County (1-4) built a 24-15 lead in the first half before opening up a 39-24 advantage early in the fourth quarter en route to claiming their sixth straight win over East Hickman (1-4). -

The second seeded FMS Rockets got off to a mildly slow start before revving up the engines and exploding past Eagleville in a 47-26 first round win in the 52nd Annual World Tournament in Chapel Hill Monday night. "It's always nice to get that first win," said FMS head coach Randy Toombs. "I thought we drew the hardest team, because we only beat Eagleville by five points over there and by seven here, so it was a fun and good win." -

The Forrest Rocket grapplers made it six wins in a row to start the season, sweeping Page and Eagleville in a dual meet Tuesday night in Chapel Hill. "A lot of our kids had challenging matches tonight and they need those challenging matches, because when they get into the region tournament or the state tournament there we be those matches that will be tough," said Forrest head coach Kyle Stacey. "Any time a wrestler can wrestle in a match like that, it is good for them."
