Tigers lose nail-biter to visiting Whitthorne (High School Sports ~ 12/13/13)
The LMS Tigers (4-4) came out on the short end of a back and forth battle in Lewisburg Monday night, losing 42-35 to Whitthorne. Even though the Tigers jumped out to an early 5-0 lead, LMS head coach David Lovell was not happy with the ball club's intensity in the first half. "We started slow because we did not come ready to play; we played with no heart or energy the first half," said Lovell. After trailing 5-3 at the end of the first period, Whitthorne stormed back, chalking up an 8-0 run on LMS with most of the damage coming from the free throw line. -

The Forrest Rockets held the lead at the end of each of the first three quarters versus Summertown Tuesday night in Chapel Hill, only to see it slip away in the fourth quarter of a 67-58 defeat. "I was very disappointed with our defense in the second half. We knew our game plan going into the game was to stop the dribble drive, not get beat off the dribble and guard against the three pointers," said FHS head coach Wes Hobbs. "The first half, we seemed to do that pretty well, but the second half we couldn't keep their guards from driving to the basket." -
