Discovery Gym wins state titles (Community Sports ~ 02/21/14)
The Discovery Gymnastics, headquartered in Columbia has concluded their busy schedule for the season. The Level 3 Competitive Team participated in the following meets: K-Town Showdown in Knoxville, You're the One in Gallatin, Intrigue Invite at Opryland Hotel, Music City in Franklin and the State Meet at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville. The Level 3 Team placed 3rd at K-Town, 7th at You're the One, 6th at Intrigue Invite and 6th at Music City. The following gymnasts and some of their top placements at these meets are as follows: -
Lady Bulldogs pay back Richland (High School Sports ~ 02/21/14)
After a one-year hiatus, the District 11-A tournament championship trophy returned to Cornersville on Monday night when the Lady Bulldogs defeated archrival Richland 47-33 in the title game at Columbia Academy. The top seeded Lady Raiders (18-8) had won the last four meetings against CHS, which included a 40-29 victory in last year's District tournament championship game, but the Lady Bulldogs (17-11) seemed bent on reversing that trend on Monday.
