By Karen Hall Editor Over 100 Lewisburg residents gathered in the large meeting room at the Recreation Center for the official presentation of the Vision Plan to the community on March 13. Richie Jones, a partner at Hodgson Douglas, the company which prepared the plan, along with The Walker Collaborative and Kennon Calhoun Workshop, presented it to the group with the help of a PowerPoint. The FMS Rockets took full advantage of a one-hitter on the mound by Dustin Brashears and some clutch hitting in a 9-0 win at Huntland on Monday, upping the Forrest win streak to six games. After the postponement of Tuesday night's game at Middle Tennessee Christian School due to frigid temperatures, the Forrest Rockets came out on fire on Wednesday, scoring eight first innings en-route to a big 16-8 win, completing the regular season sweep over the Cougars. Forrest (6-5, 4-0) had just seven hits in the contest and was helped out by nine Cougar errors in the field, 11 bases on balls, three wild pitches and four passed balls. -
Tigers surge past Page (High School Sports ~ 03/28/14)
After dropping a 6-4 decision to Page the previous evening, the Marshall County earned a split in the season series with their District rival when they defeated the Patriots 12-7 at home on Tuesday night. Page (5-4, 1-1 District) held a 1-0 lead at the end of the first inning, but the Tigers (5-1, 1-1 District) got their offense rolling after that point and outscored the Patriots 10-2 over the next three frames to seize a 10-3 advantage before claiming the five-run victory. -
