City council learns about costs ahead for water department

n Monday, the Cornersville Middle School Lady Bulldogs (16-4) showed some signs of rust from a 10-day layoff, as they saw their 13-game winning streak come to an end with a 4-2 home loss at the hands of the South Giles Lady Eagles. Having defeated South Giles 3-1 in their previous encounter on March 11, the Lady Bulldogs appeared to be in good shape early on in Monday's contest and jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Cornersville, however, saw their offense sputter after that point while the Lady Eagles outscored them 4-0 over the final six frames to earn a split of the regular season series. -

The Marshall County Tigerettes got that winning feeling back on Tuesday afternoon, as they snapped a five-game losing streak by throttling the Christ Presbyterian Academy Lady Lions 11-0 at home in five innings to pick up their first District win of the year. -
