The Cornersville Bulldogs picked up an important win in the race for first place in the District 11-A standings on Tuesday when they defeated second place Columbia Academy 8-4 on the road in the first game of a doubleheader. After building a 3-1 lead through the first three innings of play, the first place Bulldogs (11-5, 7-0 District) scored five more runs over the next four frames to forge an 8-1 advantage before holding off a Columbia Academy rally attempt in the bottom of the seventh. -

A pair of rainouts earlier in the week was unable to wash away the Marshall County Tigerettes' recent momentum, as they won their third straight game on Wednesday afternoon by defeating the Columbia Central Lady Lions 3-0 on the road. Having allowed just one run in her last two outings, Tigerette starting pitcher Jacey Perryman turned in another strong performance in the circle and yielded just six hits and two walks in seven scoreless innings of work to record her second shutout of the season. -
Lady Bulldogs stomp Santa Fe (High School Sports ~ 04/11/14)
On Wednesday afternoon, the Cornersville Lady Bulldogs (7-4, 4-2 District) recorded their third straight blowout victory when they went on the road and whipped Santa Fe 12-0 in five innings to complete the season sweep of the Lady Wildcats. Bolstered by a five-run fifth inning, the Lady Bulldogs pounded out 14 hits against two Santa pitchers to go along with four walks and three Lady Wildcat errors. -
Lady Rockets clip Eagleville (High School Sports ~ 04/11/14)
The Forrest Lady Rockets picked up their 10th win of the season Wednesday night in Eagleville, coming away with a hard fought 6-3 victory over the much improved Lady Eagles. Forrest (10-3, 6-2) had 10 hits in the contest, while Eagleville managed just four hits off winning pitcher Sara Jordan, who had to leave the game in the bottom of the fifth after being struck by a hot shot back to the circle. -
Lady Rockets go long in Unionville (High School Sports ~ 04/11/14)
On Thursday night in Unionville, the Forrest Lady Rockets let Community stay in the game for four innings before bashing the Viqueens 15-1 in five innings. It was the 30th win in a row for Forrest (11-3, 7-2) over Community (11-9, 3-5) and it came via a sonic boom as Forrest socked four homeruns in the game, including fifth inning grand slams by Katie Warrick and Liz "The Eraser" Daughrity.
