On Friday afternoon, the Marshall County Dusters (17-7) suffered their third straight loss when they were defeated 7-0 in five innings by the Coffee County Red Raiders at Blackman High School in the Boro Classic. Having narrowly defeated Coffee County 2-1 in the Crethan Hansert Memorial Tournament last weekend, the Dusters appeared they would go down to the wire with the Red Raiders again after the two teams battled to a 0-0 tie through the first three innings of play. -

fter dropping a 5-4 decision to Summertown earlier in the day, the Marshall County Dusters fell to 0-2 in the Boro Classic when they were defeated 3-2 by the Knoxville based Diamond Simcox Academy on Thursday night at Blackman High School. he Marshall County Dusters (17-5) had their six-game winning streak snapped on Thursday afternoon when they lost 5-4 to the Summertown Eagles at Blackman High School in the Boro Classic. Marshall County held a tenuous 4-3 lead through the first six and a half innings of play, but the Eagles conjured up some late game magic and pushed across two runs in the bottom of the seventh thanks to a hit, a walk, and an error to escape with the victory. -

Having lost their first three games at the Boro Classic, the Marshall County Dusters (18-7) ended the tournament on a positive note when they whipped tourney host Blackman 15-1 in five innings on Friday night. With Blackman playing many of their younger players, the Dusters gave the youthful Blaze squad a trial by fire, as they built a 10-1 lead through the first three innings of play before tacking on five runs in the top of the fifth to cruise to the mercy rule shortened victory. -

Coming off a lopsided loss to the South Williamson Hammers two days earlier, the Marshall County eight-year old All-Stars were eliminated from the Cal Ripken District 8 baseball tournament when they were defeated 18-12 by the South Williamson Wreckers on Saturday night in the first round of the loser's bracket at the Richard Cashion Sports Complex. -

After splitting their first two games of the Cal Ripken District 8 baseball tournament, the Marshall County 11-year old All-Stars kept their championship hopes alive on Saturday night when they defeated Maury County 4-2 at the Richard Cashion Sports Complex in the first round of the loser's bracket. The two teams battled to a 2-2 tie through the first three innings of play, but Marshall County held Maury County scoreless the rest of the way while pushing across two runs over the final three frames to claim their second win of the tournament. -
MC 12s ousted by forced forfeit (High School Sports ~ 06/25/14)
The Marshall County 12-year old All-Stars were eliminated from the Cal Ripken District 8 baseball tournament in bizarre fashion on Sunday afternoon when they were forced to forfeit in the loser's bracket final after battling the South Williamson Spartans to a 6-6 tie through seven innings of play. Marshall County held a 6-2 lead through the first five innings of play, but the Spartans mounted a frantic rally in the bottom of the sixth and crossed home plate four times in the frame, highlighted by a two-out, three-run homer by Caleb Lanford, to knot the score at 6-6.
