Coming off a 7-5 victory over Giles County the previous day, the Marshall County 11-year old All-Stars advanced to the Cal Ripken District 8 championship game by defeating the South Williamson Shockdawgs 8-5 in the loser's bracket final on Monday night at the Richard Cashion Sports Complex. Having beaten Marshall County 9-8 in the second round of the tournament, South Williamson held the upper hand early on in Mondays contest after inching out to a 2-0 lead through the first two innings of play. -

After battling their way through the loser's bracket, the Marshall County 11-year old All-Stars had to settle for second place in the Cal Ripken District 8 tournament, as they dropped a hard fought 5-4 decision to the Lawrence County Wildcats in the championship game on Monday night at the Richard Cashion Sports Complex. Needing to defeat the Wildcats twice in order to win the title, Marshall County trailed 4-2 through the first five innings of play before rallying to tie the contest at 4-4 in the top of the sixth inning. -
