Ensworth hands Dusters 6-2 defeat (High School Sports ~ 07/09/14)
Marshall County Dusters (19-8) by winning the second game 6-2 in five innings on Monday night at Joe George Field. Aided by a strong performance from starting pitcher Sammy Groninger, the Tigers built a 6-0 lead through the first four innings of play before cruising to the four-run victory. Groninger picked up the victory on the mound and yielded just two hits and two walks in four scoreless innings of work to go along with five strikeouts. Alex Just came on in relief of Groninger and yielded two runs in one inning on one hit and two walks. -
Marshall Co. 11s conquer Cookeville (High School Sports ~ 07/09/14)
The Marshall County 11-year old All-Stars got off to a promising start in the Cal Ripken State Tournament when they defeated Cookeville 8-4 in their opening pool game on the 4th of July in Pulaski. Marshall County held a tenuous 3-2 lead through the first four innings of play, but broke the game open with some late offensive fireworks and crossed home plate five times in the top of the fifth to forge an 8-2 advantage before claiming the four-run victory... -
Giles Co. powers past Marshall Co. 11s (High School Sports ~ 07/09/14)
Giles County proved to have too much offensive firepower for the Marshall County 11-year old All-Stars, as the Cal Ripken State Tournament hosts rolled to a 13-7 victory in the finals of the consolation bracket on Sunday morning in Pulaski. Having lost 7-5 to Marshall County two weeks earlier in the District tournament, Giles County appeared bent on avenging that setback and bolted out to an 8-1 lead through the first three and a half innings of play. -
Maury Co. outlasts Marshall 11s (High School Sports ~ 07/09/14)
Coming off an 8-4 victory over Cookeville earlier in the day, the Marshall County 11-year old All-Stars had to settle for a split in their two pool games at the Cal Ripken State Tournament after losing 9-5 to Maury County in eight innings on Friday night in Pulaski. Marshall County held a 3-1 lead through the first four innings of play, but Maury County pushed across two runs in the top of the fifth to tie the game at 3-3. -
Tiger baseball tryouts set July 16-17

The Marshall County High School baseball team is holding tryouts next week at Joe George Field for those individuals that are interested in playing on the 2015 team. The tryout for incoming freshman and sophomores will be held on Wednesday, July 16, at 10:00 a.m., while the tryout for the juniors and seniors will be held on Thursday, July 17, at 10:00 a.m.

Mudcats sweep Giles County (High School Sports ~ 07/09/14)
The Middle Tennessee Mudcats, coming off the dead-period layoff, returned to the diamond in Chapel Hill on Monday in good form, sweeping a doubleheader from Giles County 12-2 and 14-7. The Mudcats (10-8-1) turned in a torrid offensive performance, banging out 30 hits in the double-bubble with Tanner Garvin leading the way, going 5-6 with five RBIs. Garvin also picked up the win on the mound for the Mudcats in the first game, giving up five hits in his three innings of work. -
Dusters rally for 8-7 win vs. Ensworth (High School Sports ~ 07/09/14)
Despite having to shake off some rust from a two-week layoff, the Marshall County Dusters (19-7) managed to pull out a victory on Monday when they defeated the Ensworth Tigers 8-7 in eight innings at home in the first game of a doubleheader. After the two teams battled to a 5-5 tie through the first seven innings of play, Ensworth scored two runs in the top of the eighth to take a 7-5 lead. -
Bodenhamer to lead Tigers (High School Sports ~ 07/09/14)
After head coach Adrian Wilson departed for Summit earlier this summer, Marshall County High School found a new man to lead the Tiger basketball program when they recently hired veteran coach Arnett Bodenhamer. Having been in the coaching business the last 14 years, Arnett is very familiar with MCHS' tradition of athletic success and believes the basketball program has the potential to reach lofty heights. -
