Bulldog golfers eliminated in district tournament (High School Sports ~ 09/12/14)
Although they showed significant improvement over last year's postseason performance, the Cornersville Bulldogs golf team was knocked out of the playoffs on Tuesday when they finished eighth out of 14 teams in the District 11-A-AA tournament, which was held at GreyStone Golf Club in Dickson. The Bulldogs shaved 31 strokes off of last season's score and finished with a 365 on GreyStone's rolling par 72 layout after taking the top four rounds from five golfers. -
Tigers finish 3rd in district (High School Sports ~ 09/12/14)
The Marshall County Tigers golf team once again qualified for the Region 6-A-AA tournament by finishing third out of 10 schools in the District 12-A-AA tourney on Monday at Lawrenceburg Golf and Country Club. MCHS improved on last year's District tournament performance by eight strokes and posted a team score of 329 on the par 71 course after taking the top four rounds from five golfers. -

Buford Ellington Golf Course, inside Henry Horton State Park, was the site of the District 9A-AA Tournament on Tuesday as 75 golfers teed it up in hopes of earning a region berth and keeping their seasons alive, and after all the shots were fired and putts sunk, it was Cheatham County winning the boys' event and Whitehouse High School taking the girls' bracket. -

In one of the most well played and exciting games in recent history, the FMS Rockets trailed Eagleville 14-8 with 2:46 remaining in the game before an exhilarating 99-yard punt return for a touchdown by Wesley McCoy secured a 16-14 win over the Eagles at "The Rock" in Chapel Hill Thursday night. "That's by far one of the best games I've been involved with in any kind of sporting event, it was a great game," said FMS head coach Bart Joyce. "I'm just so proud of the boys, I can't say that enough, they all work so hard. They did it, it was nothing that I did, so I am so proud of them."
