Intermediate school to be named for two principals

The Forrest Lady Rockets were looking for a good tune-up game for the upcoming District 9A-AA Tournament and they got one as White House-Heritage came to Chapel Hill in postseason form Tuesday night, defeating Forrest 3-2 in the regular season finale for both squads. CMS wins Frog Bottom Bowl (High School Sports ~ 10/10/14)
On Tuesday night, the Cornersville Middle School Bulldogs capped an undefeated season in perfect fashion by crushing Lauderdale County, AL 48-8 at home in the First Annual Frog Bottom Bowl to finish the 2014 campaign with an 8-0 record. Having defeated all seven of their previous opponents by two touchdowns or more this season, the Bulldogs continued that trend on Tuesday, as they raced out to a 36-8 lead in the first half before tacking on a couple more TDs over the final two quarters of play to roll to the 40-point victory. Thanks to Tuesday's triumph, the Bulldogs extended their current winning streak to 12 games and outscored their eight opponents this season by a count of 260-28. -
Vikings spoil Rockets' perfect season (High School Sports ~ 10/10/14)
The FMS Rockets, hoping for an unbeaten season and the honor of holding the Duck River Valley Conference championship trophy came up two points short Thursday night at the Murrey E. Holton Field in Chapel Hill, losing 14-12 to a determined Community squad. "It was a rough night, sometimes the ball just doesn't bounce your way," said FMS head coach Bart Joyce. "The boys played hard, they fought and fought and fought, but sometimes you fall a little short and that's all you can say about tonight."
