FMS splits with Community (High School Sports ~ 10/24/14)
Hoops season is underway in the county and as usual, the FMS squads were the first to take to the hardwood, beginning their campaigns last week on the road before returning for the home opener in Chapel Hill on Monday where they split with Community. The young and inexperienced Lady Rockets, who started the season with a 1-3 mark got off to a promising start versus the Viqueens, holding an 8-6 lead after the first period. Back-to-back buckets to open the contest by Micah Toombs was followed by a basket by Community's Logan Brothers before Toombs scored again, making it 6-2. -

Friday's games are critical for Marshall County teams With only two games left in the regular season, all three county football teams are still in the running to earn spot in the upcoming playoffs. The Marshall County Tigers and Forrest Rockets have likely done enough already to qualify for the postseason, while the Cornersville Bulldogs are fighting to grab one of the final at large spots in their classification.
