Lewisburg awarded Green Development Grant for park

The City of Lewisburg recently received a grant of $23,080 which it will use as part of a comprehensive plan to improve Rock Creek Park. The City plans to remove 4,500 square feet of asphalt to create public green space. The Marshall County Wrestling Club recently competed in Crossville at the Region 1 and 2, Top 100 tournament against 682 of the best wrestlers the region has to offer. A gutty second half comeback by Cornersville went for naught on Tuesday night, as the Bulldogs (1-14, 1-8 District) dropped a hard fought 59-51 decision to the Culleoka Warriors on Homecoming. After taking a 28-22 lead into halftime, Culleoka (6-15, 4-6 District) opened up a 35-24 advantage midway through the third quarter before the Bulldogs came storming back to tie the game at 37-37 early in the fourth period. -

It was not a competitive game for very long at Christ Presbyterian Academy Tuesday night as the Marshall County Tigerettes fell 78-33 to the No. 2 ranked Lady Lions. On Tuesday night, the Cornersville Lady Bulldogs snapped a three-game losing streak by thrashing District foe Culleoka 56-26 on Homecoming to complete the sweep of the season series. Cornersville (6-12, 4-5 District) put the game out of reach early and built a 32-12 lead in the first half before outscoring the Lady Warriors 24-14 over the final two quarters to cruise to their 26th straight win over Culleoka. -
