Athletic directors honor Bain (College Sports ~ 05/22/15)
Martin Methodist Executive Director of Athletics Jeff Bain was recently honored as one of the top athletic directors in the country by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. Bain, who just completed his 22nd year at the helm of the RedHawk Athletic Department, was one of four NAIA athletic directors and one of just 28 across all classifications to be named Under Armour AD of the Year by NACDA. -

Buccaneers eliminate Bulldogs from state tournament (High School Sports ~ 05/22/15)
Boyd Buchanan (29-10) knocked the Cornersville Bulldogs (20-12) out of the Class A State Tournament on Wednesday night when the Buccaneers defeated CHS 11-0 in five innings at Middle Tennessee Christian School in the second round of the loser's bracket. Although Cornersville saw their season end on a disappointing note, the Bulldogs didn't let that tarnish their gritty playoff run, which saw them reach the Spring Fling for the second time in three years and record the second victory at the State Tournament in the program's history. -

MURFREESBORO--Forrest had much to lose on Wednesday at the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association Spring Fling. The youthful Sale Creek Lady Panthers, making its first state tournament appearance in 33 years did not, taking the field at the Class A State Softball Tournament with one senior, one junior and the rest eighth-grade upstarts. -
Resilient Lady Rockets win extra-inning thriller, advance to Class A title game (High School Sports ~ 05/22/15)
It seemed like a very large portion of Chapel Hill residents were at the big game on Thursday at the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association's Spring Fling to urge their Lady Rockets on in the winner's bracket final of the State Softball Championships. It turned out to be a game that will be remembered for decades to come as part of the rich history of the program---and maybe one of the most important. Forrest and Grace Christian School from Knoxville battled for nine innings before the Lady Rockets broke through with four runs in the 10th inning in what turned out to be a 6-4 win.
