The Fury '03 United States Specialty Sports Association (USSA) 11-under squad, based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, recently won the 2015 World Series title played at Orlando, Florida, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The Forrest Alumni Scholarship Golf Tournament came down to the closest finish in the history of the event on Friday when the First Commerce Bank Team of David Delk, Rickey Sweeney, TJ Tipps and Greg Hill won on a match of cards to unseat the defending champions from First State Bank. First State's squad of Matt Morehead, Brian Holcomb, Ryan Sweeney and Jacob Daughrity matched the winning score of 13-under-par 59, but an incredible back nine of 29 by First Commerce broke the tie. -

Bombers downed by 2 runs in SE championship The Marshall County Bombers were tantalizingly close, coming up two runs short of a berth in the Babe Ruth World Series. "It's been a great ride. These kids have nothing to hang their heads about," Marshall County manager Greg Bradford said of his team, which fell 7-6 to Gainesville, Virginia, in the championship game. "They swept the district, swept the state and came down here to the Southeast Region where nobody knew them and made it to the championship game. "It was a great accomplishment and I still think we were the best team there." -
Warrick named All-American (Community Sports ~ 08/05/15)
Only Tennessee player to make MaxPrep Team Forrest graduate Katie Warrick picked up another post-season honor when she was recently named to the MaxPrep's 2015 Small School All-American second team. Warrick was the lone Tennessee softball player on the squad. The UT Martin signee led the Lady Rockets to the Class A state title in her senior season as Forrest posted a 35-5 record with Warrick putting up a 32-3 record and a 1.81 ERA in the circle.
