CMS Bulldogs bite Hornets (High School Sports ~ 08/26/15)
Cornersville Middle School took on Huntland Middle School in the first home game of the season and gave the fans an offensive show en route to a 48-0 win over the Hornets. Cornersville jumped out to a 8-0 lead on a 52 yard TD by Brady Calahan on the very first play of the game and notched the lead up to 14-0 on the next possession as Calahan crossed the field after shaking off a sure tackle and ran 25 yards into the endzone. -
Bulldogs fall in road opener (High School Sports ~ 08/26/15)
OUNT JULIET -- Cornersville's growing pains were fully evident Friday night. The Bulldogs, opening their season on the road at Mt. Juliet Christian, fumbled seven times and gained only 99 yards in a 36-6 loss to the hosts. Dakota Polk's 5-yard touchdown with 1:58 left in the game got the Bulldogs on the board, and helped them play a relatively even second half after struggling mightily before halftime. -
Mercy! Mercy! Rockets rout Huntland (High School Sports ~ 08/26/15)
Anytime you go to Huntland and win it's big, but going down and mercy ruling the Hornets 35-0 is almost unheard for Forrest. "I'm glad this one is over with. That's a good football team right there," Forrest coach Matt Kriesky said of the win, which had a running clock for nearly the entire final quarter. "I know maybe the scoreboard doesn't reflect that. Coach (Bob) Robertson and his staff do an excellent job." -
Tigers maul Franklin County (High School Sports ~ 08/26/15)
Offense explodes for 60 points Marshall County started the season the way every coach dreams Friday night, scoring 60 points for just the second time in the past decade in a 60-23 romp over visiting Franklin County. Franklin County drove the length of the field for a quick lead before the Tigers responded with for four straight touchdowns on the way to a 28-7 halftime cushion.
