Forrest Middle School remained undefeated on the season after a 37-0 romp over Westwood Thursday night at Manchester. The dynamic duo of "Whack and Wham" did it again for the Rockets as Nick McClendon ran for 164 yards and two touchdowns, and Blaize Sweeney rushed for 133 and two scores. -
Tigerette soccer team rips Fayetteville City

The Marshall County Tigerettes continued on an early season tear by walloping a helpless Fayetteville City High team 7-1 in a neighboring county soccer match. Marshall County coach Thomas Osteen rolled the dice Friday night at John Overton, going for a two-point conversion instead of kicking the potential game-tying extra point. The attempt failed and the Tigers lost 42-41, but it showed that Osteen is playing to win, and that could go a long way in building the program in Lewisburg. "Usually it's my thought to always kick the extra point and extend the game," Osteen said. "However, I felt Overton was gassed and if we got the look we wanted we were going to try to steal a game we didn't deserve to win." -

The Cornersville Bulldogs played the 2015 home opener against former region foe Collinwood Friday night looking to bounce back off a ugly 33-6 loss to Mt. Juliet Christian to start of the season. Despite controlling the the game the entire first half the Bulldogs were worn down by the depth of the Trojans late in the game on the way to a hard fought 35-21 loss. -

Forrest extends shutout streak vs. Moore Co. to three years The tables have turned for Forrest in its long-standing rivalry with Moore County. After decades of dominance by Moore County, Forrest has beaten the Raiders three straight years, all in blowout fashion, totaling 86-0. "This is still a rivalry, it's always been Lynchburg and Chapel Hill and it always will be," Forrest all-state lineman Boone Sweeney said.
