CMS Bulldogs bounce back, stomp South Giles

Cornersville Middle School returned home to Frog Bottom looking to bounce back from a loss to South Lincoln that snapped a 16-game winning streak against a South Giles squad it had beaten soundly in Pulaski just three weeks prior. The Bulldogs will now embark on a new win streak after pummeling the Eagles 30-6 in a game that saw the home team score 30 straight points in the first half before cycling in the reserves.

Cornersville needed a win Friday night and the task was tough enough, going on the road to Mt. Pleasant where they hadn't won since 2002. Three costly turnovers and a bevy of bad snaps from center cost the Bulldogs in crucial situations that led to a 28-21 loss. -
Lady Bulldog streak continues

Cornersville started the girls soccer season 1-4-1 with a roster full of underclassmen before hitting its stride by winning four of five including a three-game winning streak entering Thursday's game against D-II private school Zion Christian Academy. The Lady Bulldogs (6-5-1) pushed that run to four by breaking a 1-1 tie late in the game on an Anna Claire Foster shot to stun the Eagles 2-1.

Rockets run over Cascade in 'team effort' (High School Sports ~ 09/30/15)
The Forrest Rockets traveled to Cascade Friday night with a plan -- rain or shine they were going to pound the football the entire game. "The weather didn't play a factor. That was our plan going into the game and it turned out well for us Friday night," Forrest coach Matt Kriesky said. -
Tigers win Homecoming (High School Sports ~ 09/30/15)
Marshall County took on a break from the region schedule to take on the Stratford Spartans from East Nashville on a dreary Homecoming night following an emotional 46-6 dismantling of longtime rival Giles County the previous week. The rain didn't keep the fans away as a standing-room-only crowd at Preston Hopkins Field saw the Tigers claim a 38-20 victory. -
