The Cornersville Bulldogs were hoping to get out of the doghouse Friday at Huntland, but the Hornets spoiled the effort with a 47-21 win. "Going into the Huntland game everyone in our program knew it would be a tall task for our club. I think Huntland did a very good job of changing up there scheme for us," said Cornersville coach Gerard Randolph "From previous films they had not passed the ball much at all, and Friday night they really hurt us with their passing game." Cornersville fell behind early as Huntland scored two first quarter touchdowns before tacking on 21 more points in the second quarter. -
CMS Bulldogs earn win on rainy homecoming nigh (High School Sports ~ 10/07/15)
The Cornersville Middle School Bulldogs took on a familiar foe Thursday night when the Richland Raiders came to town on Homecoming night, looking to give the Bulldogs two losses in a season for the first time in over three years. Despite a quick start by the Raiders after recovering an onside kick to start the game and an ensuing touchdown, the Bulldogs settled down to ended their season on a high note with a 43-8 victory on a cold and stormy night in southern Marshall County. -
Blowout sends FMS to title game (High School Sports ~ 10/07/15)
By game time, the rain was coming down sideways at Murrey E. Holton Field at Chapel Hill, but it didn't faze the FMS Rockets, who stayed focused on finishing out an undefeated regular season. Forrest started fast and never let up and Middle Tennessee Christian School never knew what hit them as the Rockets blistered the Cougars 52-2. -
Tigers clinch playoff berth (High School Sports ~ 10/07/15)
The Marshall County Tigers stepped back into region play traveling to Lawrenceburg to take on the Lawrence County Wildcats after a grueling, physical win against Stratford the previous week earning Marshall County 5th place ranking in the most recent 4A statewide Associated Press poll. The Tigers (6-1, 3-0) jumped on the Wildcats (2-5,1-2) early and never let up in a business like 48-7 win that clinched a spot on the Class 4-A state playoffs for the sixth consecutive year. -
Rockets come back to seize region lead (High School Sports ~ 10/07/15)
Forrest traveled to Watertown Friday night with its goal of winning the region title squarely in front of them and after trailing early, the Rockets stormed back for a 30-20 win over the Purple Tigers. With the win, Forrest (6-1, 4-0) moved one game in front of Watertown (5-2, 4-1) in the Region 4-AA standings with three league games left to play. -

Tigerettes fall to Raiders in district playoff preview (High School Sports ~ 10/07/15)
The Tigerettes traveled to Spring Hill on Monday for their regular season finale in a preview against the same team it will meet in the 1st round of the District 12-A/AA Tournament on Thursday night. Marshall County (12-3, 3-2) played almost evenly throughout the match before giving up three late goals to fall to the Raiders (6-5, 3-3) 4-0 dropping two games in a row for the first time all season. -
