Forrest took on the Tigers from Fayetteville on Saturday night in a District 9A play-in game and looked to avoid the curse of not being able to beat the same team three times in one season as the Lady Rockets beat Fayetteville handily in both regular season meetings. Forrest would put to rest any thought of an upset by the winless Lady Tigers (0-22), jumping out to a 19-5 lead after one quarter and breezing to a 58-14 win holding Fayetteville to its lowest point total on the year. -

The MCHS Tigerettes traveled to Nashville on Friday to play a make-up game due to inclement weather against the top dog of District 12AA Christ Presbyterian Academy (CPA), who had beaten Marshall County by 35 points to start off district play early in January. Marshall County (1-21, 0-10) would not fare much better on this night as the lady Lions (20-4, 10-0) were clicking on all cylinders heading into the 12-AA Tournament and used the Tigerettes as warm-up competition in an 82-37 win. -

he Forrest wrestling team made history on Saturday at the Region 3A/AA Individual Tournament at Montgomery Central High School in Cunningham as the Rockets won the team score by one point over Page due to a school record six Chapel Hill grapplers qualifying for the 2016 Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association State Wrestling Tournament. Jeffery Gross (106-pounds), Dylan Pendley (113), Wesley McCoy (160) and Nicholas McGuiggan (220) all won region titles, while Billy Clanton (195) finished in second place and Clay Watson (152) came up with a fourth place finish. -
Tigers fall at CPA in regular season finale (High School Sports ~ 02/17/16)
The Marshall County Tigers traveled to Nashville on Friday night, trying to claim a win over the lone District 12AA team it had yet to win against during the regular season and lock up second place in the district with a win over a Christ Presbyterian Academy (CPA) team that was sporting a 65-game district winning streak. The standing room only crowd at CPA saw a game fit for the top two teams in the district with the Lions edging the Tigers 73-66 despite Marshall County taking a lead into the fourth quarter after going down 11 points at the half. -
