Cascade tops Tigers in District 12-AA clash (High School Sports ~ 04/06/16)
The Marshall County Tigers (7-5, 2-1) welcomed Cascade to Lewisburg on Monday night just one year removed from a state tournament appearance in just its second year in 2A ball after moving up from 1A in 2013. Despite being district opponents for just three years, the Champs (8-7, 1-2) and the Tigers already have the inklings of a rivalry as Marshall County has won the initial meeting the past two seasons before Cascade won the next game and subsequently knocked Lewisburg out of the playoffs the past two seasons. -
Rockets look toward 9-A preparation (High School Sports ~ 04/06/16)
The Forrest Rockets did some more preparation for District 9-A play and gained valuable on the field experience over the weekend, competing in the Warrior Classic where they posted a 1-2 record. After a rainout on Thursday night, the Rockets opened up tournament play Friday night at Wilson Central with a 5-1 loss to Briarcrest Christian School from Memphis. -
Tigers dominate to end sweep (High School Sports ~ 04/06/16)
The second game of the double header between Marshall County and Wyoming was night and day different as Nathan Derryberry pitched a shutout and the offensive side of the game for the Tigers turned into glorified batting practice as the home team jumped on the Cowboys 7-0 after three innings before MCHS coach Mike "Monk" Reese started substituting early in a 13-0 win. -
Tigers squeeze past familiar spring foe (High School Sports ~ 04/06/16)
The Tigers welcomed the Cowboys from just outside of Cincinnati, Ohio to Lewisburg on Saturday for a doubleheader a day after both teams played Lawrence County with Marshall County winning 8-7 before the weekends match with the Cowboys. "They've been coming down through here the past couple of years, it's been three or four years now," MCHS coach Mike Reese explained. "We have a little mini-tournament here during their spring break, so we've been knowing these guys awhile now." -

Cornersville freshman Graham Duke has a lot to live up to on the mound at Frog Bottom, following a pair of pitchers that set the standard for the Bulldogs in David Looney and Lucas Laster. Duke is well aware of the legacy, learning from Looney last year and now from Laster, who is on the current Cornersville staff. -
Tigerettes claim tournament title (High School Sports ~ 04/06/16)
The Marshall County Tigerettes traveled to Clarksville last weekend and posted a 5-1 mark, including a 2-0 win over Clarksville NW in the Silver Division championship game. "I thought we did great this weekend," MCHS coach Heather Denton said. "We lost to Clarksville Northwest in pool play, but then we beat them when it really mattered." -
