Rockets sweep Hornets, grab District 9-A lead (High School Sports ~ 04/08/16)
It's always a tough home and away series when Forrest and Huntland meet because of the distance between the two schools, the storied rivalry and the quality of baseball that both clubs perennially display. On Monday at Franklin County, Forrest (9-5, 4-0) notched a big road win, beating Huntland ace lefty Kobe Foster 4-0 and the return trip to Chapel Hill was even sweeter on Tuesday as the Rockets completed the regular season sweep with a big 10-2 win over the Hornets. -

Former Tigerette sets sights on sportscasting Kayla Harmon grew up in a sports family and was surrounded her entire life by sports, playing softball and basketball at Marshall County High School before graduating in 2011. "There's not much to do in a small town besides play sports, so of course that's what I did. I played them all, so I got to learn them all," Harmon said. "I loved it and when I graduated high school, although I decided not pursue a college scholarship, I knew I had to do something with sports." -
Lady Bulldogs sweep Richland series (High School Sports ~ 04/08/16)
Cornersville hosted longtime District 11-A foe Richland Tuesday night and it turned out very good as the Lady Bulldogs banged out 12 hits in a 16-6 six-inning, run-rule win over the Lady Raiders. It was the fourth straight win over Richland and marked back-to-back regular season sweeps by Cornersville, who had previously lost eight in a row to the Lady Raiders, dating back to 2011. -
