Early-game struggles take down Tigers (High School Sports ~ 04/27/16)
The Marshall County Tigers had a chance to make a little headway up the District 12AA standings Monday night, taking on first place CPA, but some sloppy fielding and not enough offense did MCHS in via a 9-3 loss to the Lions. "We made a couple of boo-boos there in the first and second inning and then we settled down and played some good baseball," MCHS coach Mike "Monk" Reese said. "They have a nice ballclub and that's why they are in first place right now." -
Columbia Academy avoids Lady Bulldog upset (High School Sports ~ 04/27/16)
The Lady Dawgs had a prime opportunity to move to within striking distance of the number two spot in District 11A with a meeting against the number one seed Columbia Academy (13-6, 8-0) on Thursday night in Cornersville, but fell 7-3 to their namesakes. Cornersville (7-6, 3-3) came into the game suffering an 11-game losing streak to CA with its last win coming in the state tournament season of 2011 with an 11-3 victory in the district tournament. -
Tigers find soccer success late in season

The Marshall County and Forrest boys 2016 soccer seasons have in some ways been mirrors of each other as both teams struggled to find wins early in the season despite playing top competition to the last whistle. Unlike the Rockets, the Tigers have found success as of late, winning its first contest with a convincing 5-0 win over Wayne County one game after a surprising one goal loss to then undefeated Fairview.

Tigerettes sweep series with Cornersville (High School Sports ~ 04/27/16)
Since the Cornersville-Marshall County series was revived back in the 2013 every game has been a battle for county supremacy for top dog in the talent rich southern Middle Tennessee county with Marshall County (17-5, 5-2) taking two close games in 2015, Cornersville (7-6, 3-3) winning both contests in 2014, and the Tigers winning the series 2-0 in 2013. -
Lady Rocket win honors former teammate (High School Sports ~ 04/27/16)
The defending Class A state champion Forrest Lady Rockets wore specially made uniforms with a cancer ribbon to honor former teammate Briar Mays on Sunday at the Field of Dreams in Chapel Hill and in typical Forrest fashion, shutout Eagleville 6-0. "We are happy to be able to honor her for what she did for Forrest softball and we are praying for her every day that she is winning her battle and I think she is," said Forrest coach Becky Cheatham. "I just can't say enough good things about her."
