The Lady Dawgs of Cornersville looked to stop a two-game skid in its tracks with a Tuesday night match-up with District 11-A bottom dweller Santa Fe on senior night. The game featured a preview of the potential of a Cornersville squad clicking on all cylinders with plenty of offense and a dominant defense to go along with a near perfect performance on the mound by pitcher Mikala King, who surrendered just one run against the Wildcats en route to a 17-1 run-rule win that was called in the bottom of the fourth inning. -
Rockets squeeze out district win (High School Sports ~ 04/29/16)
The Forrest Rockets, coming off a district title winning victory at Fayetteville on Monday hosted the Tigers on Tuesday and had some celebration rust, barely outlasting the Lincoln County squad 3-1. "The boys played well last night, we were not at our best but stepped up when needed and got a win," Forrest coach Bart Joyce said. -

unior hurler Samantha King gave her seniors a big treat Tuesday night at the Field of Dreams in Chapel, tossing a no-hitter on senior night in a 15-0 three inning run-rule win over Huntland. King struck out seven out of the 12 batters she faced in the contest, walked two and the other Lady Hornet reached base on a Forrest error. -
Steely returns to lead Tigerettes (High School Sports ~ 04/29/16)
After seven losing seasons at Dottie Kelso Memorial Gymnasium in Lewisburg, the Tigerettes have found new life in a legend as former state title winning coach David Steely was recently announced as the new head coach for Marshall County basketball. His decision was an easy one. "My decision was simple. I love MCHS and love Tigerettes basketball," Steely said.
