Lady Rockets fall twice in title defense (High School Sports ~ 05/27/16)
The two-time and defending Class A state champion Forrest Lady Rockets faltered in their title defense, losing back-to-back games that resulted in elimination at the Spring Fling at Murfreesboro. The tournament started off baldly for the Chapel Hill girls as Huntingdon's Sara Beth Hayes no-hit Forrest in a 1-0 loss in Tuesday's opening round. -
Rockets exit state tourney (High School Sports ~ 05/27/16)
The Forrest Rockets' return to the state tournament was another quick affair as they lost the first two games, ending the season with a 26-8 record. "I hate it, but I'm proud of the boys and happy for these seniors for what they have accomplished the last four years," Forrest coach Bart Joyce said. "It's a wonderful group of seniors that I have had since the seventh grade that I cut my teeth on as far as head coaching goes, so I can't say enough about those guys, but also saying that, I look forward to the future of the program." -
Brewer wins Mr. Baseball (High School Sports ~ 05/27/16)
orrest's Alex Brewer, a finalist for the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association (TBCA) Class A Mr. Baseball award last season won the honor for 2016 in a ceremony Tuesday morning at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. "It's a remarkable honor, I'm blessed very much," Brewer said. "I really don't know what to say except I want to thank my family and my friends very much for supporting me all these years."
