Running runs in Stalnecker family (Community Sports ~ 08/19/16)
When most students were enjoying the rest and relaxation of summer, Chapel Hill's Jaedyn and Baeliy Stalnecker were running distance races in the Junior Olympics at Humble, Texas. The Stalneckers are west coast transplants from Los Angeles, California, moving to Marshall County where Jaedyn Stalnecker is a sixth-grader at Delk-Henson Intermediate School and Baeliy Stalnecker is in first grade at CHES. -
Rocket Run (Community Sports ~ 08/19/16)
The Chapel Hill Touchdown Association's 5k Rocket Rally Run commenced for the second year at Chapel Hill on Saturday with unusually cool morning weather and it helped all the runners make it to the finish line. -
Lady Rockets blank Tigerettes in opener (High School Sports ~ 08/19/16)
Marshall County and Forrest jumped head first into the 2016 season as the longtime county rivals opened the season against one another for the second year in a row with the Lady Rockets coming out on top via a dominant 5-0 win. The Lady Rockets scored four second half goals to stun the Tigerettes, who started out the 2015 season with a school record 11 straight wins. -
Tigers run away with Wells Cup (High School Sports ~ 08/19/16)
In 2012, the Gary Wells Cup matches began between the three county high school golf teams and for all five years, Wells' beloved Tigers have run away with the trophy by an average margin 55.8 strokes, including a huge 70-stroke win this season. "You want to keep that streak going, you don't want to be that team to let it go somewhere else," Marshall County coach Arnett Bodenhamer said. "The guys got here the last three days and wanted to keep it home and they did their job, we had a couple hiccups here and there, but we finished it out." -
