Bulldogs fall in double overtime (High School Sports ~ 08/24/16)
The Cornersville Bulldogs hosted Mt. Juliet Christian Academy Friday night in a soggy Frog Bottom and the two squads battled for two overtimes before the Knights came out on top 20-17. "This was a very tough and physical football game that we played on Friday night and I was pleased with the effort and fight that the guys showed throughout the game," Cornersville coach Gerard Randolph said. "The guys battled to the last whistle and I was proud of that. You never want to lose a game, and by no means am I happy with the loss, but this game showed what type of team we want to be, and that's a tough and physical football squad without all the turnovers." -

The Marshall County machine was running on all cylinders against the Rebels with six different Tigers scoring and first-time starting quarterback Bryce Wallace throwing for 205 yards on 14-17 attempts. -

The Forrest defense held Taylor to 73 yards rushing on 16 carries and forced him to fumble three times in the season opener at Murrey E. Holton Memorial Field in Chapel Hill. -

After a big opening season 35-12 win over Manchester, the FMS Rockets lost their home opener 22-18 to a very good Fayetteville squad. "The guys played hard for the most part, we knew what was coming but just didn't execute and that falls back on me." -
Tigers halt Bulldogs in alumni game (Community Sports ~ 08/24/16)
Despite not playing each other in the regular season in over 15 years, the competition between Marshall County High and Cornersville High is as intense as any schools that play each other year in and year out. Located just under 10 miles apart down highway 31-A, the Tigers play in the third largest classification in the TSSAA (4A) while the Bulldogs compete in the smallest classification (1A) but the two schools got together on Saturday night for one main purpose----to raise money for each respective school through competition in front of a standing room only crowd at Cornersville. -
