Lady Rockets lose first game (High School Sports ~ 09/02/16)
The Forrest Lady Rockets came into Tuesday night's early season matchup versus 3A Franklin County undefeated and full of confidence and not much changed after a well fought 3-2 loss to the Lady Rebels. "The second half was a good test for us, but I think the first half we came out kind of flat and sluggish," Forrest coach Nicole Pickle said. "But the second half we played more like we have been playing the last three games, they definitely steeped it up, so I'm proud of that. It's hard playing from behind." -

Maturing Lady Bulldogs have playoff dreams (High School Sports ~ 09/02/16)
Much like its football team, Cornersville's soccer team is made up of mostly underclassman, with just one senior to go along with a strong core of 10 juniors and the Lady Bulldogs are hoping to turn a better than expected 2015 season into a successful 2016 year ending with a deep run in the state playoffs. The Lady Bulldogs (2-2, 2-1) faced its most trying test of the young season by welcoming perennial power Fairview (4-0, 4-0) into southern Marshall County and although the final score read 5-1 in the Yellow Jackets' favor, Cornersville outplayed the Williamson County squad for much of the contest but came up just short of the win. -
Friday football primer (High School Sports ~ 09/02/16)
Week Two was a wild affair with the Tennessee summer weather playing a huge role in the outcome of one football game, a revenge minded team checking off another goal with hard work and determination in a Saturday contest and finally a young team narrowly missing out on a huge upset before falling on the road. Never before in Forrest history has a regular season game been decided like the one Friday night at Chapel Hill as the Rockets ran six plays before an electric storm encircled most of Middle Tennessee, causing the cancellation of the contest with an agreement by both the Moore County and Forrest coaches that the Rockets would be awarded the win.
