Marshall County golfers earn region tournament berth (High School Sports ~ 09/21/16)
he Marshall County Tigers golf team travelled to Lawrenceburg on Monday for the District 12A/AA tournament and came away with a third place finish, good enough to qualify for the Region 6A/AA tournament on Monday at Montgomery Bell Golf Course at Dickson. Davis George shot a two-over par 74 to garner fourth medalist honors. -
Lady Rockets earn region berth (High School Sports ~ 09/21/16)
The District 9A/AA Golf Tournament did not turn out well for the Forrest Rockets Monday at Buford Ellington Golf Course inside Henry Horton State Park, but for the Lady Rockets, it did. The Lady Rockets, led by senior Dani Hoeft's round of 97 finished in third place and will compete at the Region 5A/AA Tournament at The Legacy at Springfield on Friday. -
Tigerettes learn important lessons in loss to Cascade (High School Sports ~ 09/21/16)
The Tigerettes looked to remain in the upper echelon of District 12 A/AA on Thursday night when the Champions of Cascade (2-3, 2-1) made the trip to Lewisburg, but after playing neck and neck with the visitors in the first half, Marshall County surrendered four second half goals and suffered just its second loss in six games, 5-1. -
Marshall County takes down Cornersville (High School Sports ~ 09/21/16)
The last time Marshall County and Cornersville met on the soccer pitch, the Tigerettes set a school record for wins to open the season with seven in a row, but one year later the Lady Bulldogs (6-5) traveled to Lewisburg as winners of four of its last five games while the Tigerettes (4-5-2) looked to break a two-game winless streak. -
Tigers show Giles County who's in charge (High School Sports ~ 09/21/16)
When Marshall County and Giles County meet up on Friday nights in the fall you can throw the record books out. Unlike last season when the Tigers traveled to Pulaski to play a struggling 0-3 Giles County squad, the 2016 version of the Bobcats came into Lewisburg with a 3-1 record including impressive wins over 5A Columbia and Lincoln County and the only blemish a five-point loss to 5A Shelbyville (4-1). -
Unbeaten Rockets pound Vikings (High School Sports ~ 09/21/16)
The Forrest Rockets took a businesslike approach to Unionville Friday night, shutting out the Vikings 42-0 to remain unbeaten on the season. "We just wanted to come over here and get a win and move on to Homecoming week," Forrest coach Brent Johns said. The Rockets (5-0, 2-0) rushed for 211 yards in the contest and threw for 100 more, while the defense held Community to 157 total yards and did not allow the Vikings to cross midfield the entire first half.
