Former Marshall County soccer star Abbey Redferrin used a record breaking senior season in Lewisburg to earn a scholarship to play at Freed-Hardeman University and although the transition from prep star to college player has not always been an easy one, Redferrin is fitting in nicely with the Lions' program as a freshman. -
Forrest Middle basketball teams off to hot starts (High School Sports ~ 10/21/16)
It seems a little early for basketball, but it's here and it all began on Monday when FMS travelled to Eagleville and came away with a sweep before doubling down on Tuesday with a pair of wins over Huntland at Chapel Hill. Jenna Blanton led the Lady Rockets to victory on Monday, scoring a game high 16 points in a nine-point 31-22 win over the Lady Eagles. -
Season winds down, intensity ramps up (High School Sports ~ 10/21/16)
The prep football season is winding down with two weeks remaining in the regular season and all three Marshall County teams have secured playoff berths, but the stakes are still sky high. The number three ranked Forrest Rockets (8-0, 5-0), coming off a much-needed bye week, are in a quest for their first undefeated regular season since 1980 and have a two road games left on their schedule, beginning this week just down the road at Eagleville. -
