The Annual Elk's Hoop Shoot is set at the Lewisburg Recreation Center at 9 a.m. November 12-thru-16. The event is for girls and boys from 8 to 13 years old as of April 17, 2016.

FMS sweeps Eagleville (Community Sports ~ 11/09/16)
Forrest Middle School entertained Eagleville Monday night and came away with two wins as the Lady Rockets remained undefeated with a 39-23 win, while the Rockets pulled off an exciting 25-24 come from behind triumph. Lady Rockets Jenna Blanton scored a game-high 16 points for Forrest (10-0) in a contest they trailed just once and that was on the first basket of the game by Eagleville's Haylee Ferguson, who led her team in scoring with nine points. -
Hollingsworth runs well at state (High School Sports ~ 11/09/16)
arshall County High School junior long distance runner Leah Hollingsworth made her third consecutive trip to the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association's Class A/AA Cross Country State Championships on Saturday and turned in her career best time on the Percy Warner Park Steeplechase course at Nashville. -
Loss to South Pittsburg ends Bulldogs' season (High School Sports ~ 11/09/16)
The Cornersville Bulldogs ran into a Pirate warship Friday night, losing 62-12 in the first round of the TSSAA Class A playoffs at sixth-ranked South Pittsburg. The Pirates jumped on the Bulldogs early and often, scoring 27 first quarter points and opened up a 41-12 lead at the half. -
Wild, McWilliams named Mr. Football semifinalists (High School Sports ~ 11/09/16)
In a Saturday morning announcement by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA), Forrest's Slayton Wild (2A) and Marshall County's Cain McWilliams (4A) were selected as one of four semifinalists for the 2016 Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Lineman of the Year Award. The two seniors have led their squads to identical 10-1 records, region titles and number one seeds with home field advantage throughout the first four rounds of the playoffs that began Friday night. -
Cunningham saves Rockets' season (High School Sports ~ 11/09/16)
When it seemed all was lost and the season was over, Luke Cunningham, like he has done several times before this season saved the Rockets, just ask the coach. "That was huge, huge, huge," Forrest coach Brent Johns said. "I look back to the summer when Luke came out for the team and we just were not sure how he could help us, but I'm glad he did and like I told the guys after the game, 'Luke Cunningham just saved your season'." -
Tigers cruise to playoff victory (High School Sports ~ 11/09/16)
The first round of the TSSAA state playoffs passed through Preston Hopkins Field in Lewisburg with more of a low key feel as the MCHS Tigers (11-0) beat the East Hamilton Hurricanes (5-6) with ease 46-0 for its second shutout in as many playoff games. "I'm just happy that we executed on all three phases again tonight," MCHS coach Thomas Osteen said. "We started fast, we respected our opponent, didn't come out of the gate slow because we weren't focused and we had a great week of preparation in practice and all of those things came together and that's what happens when you execute in all three phases of the game." -
