Powerhouse CPA completes sweep over Tigers (High School Sports ~ 04/07/17)
As if having the defending 2A state champion (Spring Hill) isn't hard enough to deal with, Marshall County finished the second of a two-game series against 2A runner-up and 2015 state champion CPA on Tuesday night. Behind the strong arm and hot bat of Brayden Gentry, the Tigers took a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the third and a 3-2 lead into the fourth before the Lions took the lead in the fifth inning and went on to win 11-3 following a five-run seventh. -

FMS Rockets swept by Cougars (High School Sports ~ 04/07/17)
The Forrest Middle School Rockets played host to Middle Tennessee Christian School on Tuesday for a double-header and got swept by the Cougars. The Rockets lost the first game 8-5 when the Cougars scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning to break a 5-5 tie. MTCS scored three runs in the first inning, but FMS came back with one run in the bottom of the inning and three more in the second to take a 4-1 lead. The Cougars plated a pair of runs in the top of the fourth, but once again the Rockets came back to tie with a single tally in the home half of the frame. -
Forrest homeruns sink Spring Hill (High School Sports ~ 04/07/17)
The mark of a good team is finding a way to win even though not clicking on all cylinders. The Forrest Lady are a really good team and they showed it Tuesday night at the Field of Dreams in Chapel Hill, defeating a pesky Spring Hill squad 5-1. Forrest was coming off a huge weekend where they won the very difficult Middle Tennessee Softball Coaches Association Tournament at Ridley Park in Columbia and it seemed like they had some rust versus the Lady Raiders. -
