Lady Rockets squander chances, fall at East Robertson (High School Sports ~ 05/19/17)
The Forrest Lady Rockets had a frustrating evening at Cross Plains, coming up short in a 2-1 loss to East Robertson in Wednesday night’s Region 5A Tournament championship game. “I don’t know if we were a bundle of nerves or what and I don’t know why, it wasn’t an elimination game,” Forrest coach Becky Cheatham said. “We were shaky and did not get off to a good start and just couldn’t bounce back.” It was the first loss to a Class A team this season for Forrest (37-4), while the Lady Indians (22-12) made it back-to-back region final wins over the Lady Rockets and evened the all-time series at 4-4 in title tilts. -
Forrest cruises to claim third consecutive region title (High School Sports ~ 05/19/17)
When it comes to Eagleville versus Forrest at any sport the competition is always fierce. During the 2017 baseball season the competition has been extra stiff as the two schools located just over nine miles apart have met five times with no game being decided by less than three runs. On Wednesday night the District 9A rivals met for the sixth time with the Region 5A championship on the line with the winner gaining the advantage of hosting a home game in the sectional round of the state tournament. -
