Hopkins goes from diamond to classroom (College Sports ~ 06/02/17)

"My major is Elementary Education K-5 and I will begin my student teaching in the fall 2017," Hopkins said. "I have always wanted to be a teacher and I love to be around children and watch them grow." -

Packing for Two
(Features ~ 06/02/17)
Dear Heloise: We recently came back from a trip, and although my husband’s LUGGAGE arrived at the hotel with us, mine was lost at the airport! However, I had planned ahead and had packed one complete outfit, including underwear and shoes, in my husband’s bags, which I wore until the airlines could get my bags to me. I also packed a complete outfit for my husband in my bag. This way, if one of us loses their luggage, we still have something to change into until our luggage arrives...

It’s time for democrats to get real
(Editorial ~ 06/02/17)
Democrats just lost another election, this time in Montana. Unless they are willing to do some down-on-your-knees, cry-out-to-Jesus soul searching, the only way they’ll win another election is if they collude with the Russians to steal one the way Donald Trump didn’t...

Mitch McConnell, the Senate Majority Leader, was recently being interviewed and was asked about repealing and replacing Obamacare. “I don’t know how we get to 50,” he said, referring to the votes needed to pass repeal and replace. You don’t know how you get to 50? Then what in the heck are you doing in charge of the Senate?...

How much do you hate property taxes? (Editorial ~ 06/02/17)
Many people in my hometown have been freaking out over their property tax appraisals, so it was timely that I discovered a Motley Fool article titled “Why Property Taxes Are The Most Hated Levy In America.” First, a couple of disclaimers. Since I have a child in public school, I have not felt particularly overwhelmed by my own tax bill. And I’m truly appreciative of a conscientious county employee who got two worthless buildings removed from my mother’s tax appraisal... -
