In the long and storied history of the Moore County Raiders, once one of top 1A powers in the entire state, the Cornersville Bulldogs rarely made a blip on the radar of competitive rivalries. But with third-year head coach Gerard Randolph, a talented group of young assistant coaches, and a deep veteran ball club, the Bulldogs were able to accomplish something Cornersville had not done in anyone's recent memory. With dominant 42-0 victory over the Raiders on Friday night, the team from southern Marshall County beat Moore County (2-1, 0-1) twice in a row. -
Rockets suffer overtime loss in rain-soaked affair (High School Sports ~ 09/06/17)
Neighboring rivals Forrest and Eagleville have been through some very exciting big games over the course of history and Friday night’s rain soaked affair at Eagleville will be remembered a long time, especially by the Eagles’ fans as the home team came up with a nail biting 21-20 overtime win. “I thought that Friday night was our most complete game as far as playing all four quarters,” Forrest coach Brent Johns said. -
Tigers win Saturday shootout (High School Sports ~ 09/06/17)
Friday night’s inclement weather forced the postponement of the Marshall County Tigers’ trip to Tullahoma to Saturday afternoon and the dry, fast track benefitted both talented squads that put up a combined 900 yards of total offense. “This is what you live for, if you love the game of football this is it,” Marshall County quarterback Bryce Wallace said. “I’m so glad we were able to pull it off with the guys we have.” -

Donald Aubrey Smith, age 90 of Lewisburg, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2017 at his home. Mr. Smith was a native of Detroit, MI and was the son of the late Aubrey M. and Clara May Caughran Smith.
