LMS falls short of upset against Dickson (High School Sports ~ 09/13/17)
The Lewisburg Middle School Tigers have been on the brink of a breakout season in 2017 with both of its losses by a combined 4 points. The Tigers road to redemption didn’t get any easier as LMS welcomed undefeated and conference leader Dickson County to Preston Hopkins Field in Lewisburg on Thursday night. The upset looked to be complete when the Tigers roared back to take a 30-22 lead with one minute left in the third quarter, but Dickson scored two unanswered fourth-quarter touchdowns to leave Marshall County with the 38-30 win and stay atop the standings. -
Bulldogs cruise over Lions (High School Sports ~ 09/13/17)
Looking at the Bulldogs 2017 schedule, Friday night’s matchup versus Grace Christian-Franklin (1-2, 0-1) was a game that stood out as a potential upset, since Cornersville won a close contest by a mere touchdown last year at Franklin. Friday night’s contest had no such drama as the Bulldogs (3-1, 2-0) scored 28 points after falling behind 8-6 in the first quarter to pick up a huge 39-15 region 5-1A win. -
Rockets smash Eagles in Homecoming rout (High School Sports ~ 09/13/17)
The Forrest Rockets (1-3, 1-1) needed a win in a big way and they got it Friday night, shutting out Summertown 49-0 on Homecoming at Murrey E. Holton Field in Chapel Hill. “Hopefully it’s the shot in the arm we needed to start digging out of this hole in the region race,” Forrest coach Brent Johns said. “The team handled all the distractions extremely well. It was a great week.” -
