Four Lady Rockets chosen to start Lady Charger soccer team (High School Sports ~ 03/09/18)
It’s awesome to be a part of a new, exciting, and groundbreaking experience. It’s even better when you are chosen to be the backbone of the endeavor and that’s what happened on Tuesday at Forrest when Lady Rocket soccer players Jasmine Runk, Johnetta Nelson, Rickee Gayle Carter, and Adriana Reyes became the first signees of the fledgling soccer program at Columbia State Community College that will begin play this fall. -
Colvin excels in first year at Huntsville (College Sports ~ 03/09/18)
During the recruiting process, most coaches assure the potential recruit the opportunity to get big minutes during the players' inaugural season. In the case of former Forrest soccer star Brynn Colvin, that is exactly what happened. Colvin, who started playing with varsity as an eighth-grader and went on to set the single game scoring record against Fayetteville with seven goals before finishing with a whopping 57 career goals and 23 assists from the striker position has already become a key member of the University of Alabama in Huntsville soccer team. -
Johnson takes home Class 2A Mr. Basketball Award (High School Sports ~ 03/09/18)
Marshall County High School junior Kadrion “KJ” Johnson won the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association’s 34th Annual Mr. Basketball Award Tuesday night, accepting the honor on the floor of the Murphy Center at Middle Tennessee State University. “I just give all the glory to God, I thank him so much” Johnson said. “I put in a lot of work in the off-season to get to this point and thank everybody who helped me through the way.”
